Slow rate of growth and slow to fruit

Full sun to full shade

Good drought tolerance; will tolerate moist, well-drained sandy soil

Cold sensitive; zones 10 to 11

 

A rare shrub or very small tree with a rounded,

symmetrical habit and evergreen dark green,

leathery, aromatic leaves with red new growth.

Showy clusters of small, white flowers are followed

 by purplish-black berries which attract birds.
