An erect trunk becomes heavy and topples over;
then the tip turns up and keeps growing. 2’ tall long spike
of flowers will form in the summer months; stalk will stop growing
after blooming. One or more lateral buds will form then do the same
producing a thicket.. Great background or security plant “where its
fiercely pointed leaves will prevent passage of all
interlopers human and otherwise.”
