Deep shade to full sun     

Prefers moist to wet, sandy, fertile soil; will adapt to dry soil               

Fair salt tolerance

 Zones 6 to 9

 

Densely branched large shrub or small tree, evergreen in South FL,

with small, glossy, dark green leaves.

A profusion of clusters of small white, fragrant flowers in spring

 is followed by black berries that ripen in the fall.

Excellent wildlife attractor.
